There will be around 40 different varieties of heirloom tomatoes to taste. To be considered an heirloom tomato, the plants must be open pollinated, which means by the wind or insects, and has existed for at least 50 years. The Master Gardeners will provide information on how to grow heirloom tomatoes and have heirloom seeds for customers to take home and grow next year. This is the Markets’ biggest event of the summer featuring local fruits and vegetables and handmade crafts. The Market is held indoors and will be open from 8:00am to 2:00pm this Saturday.
